Job profile/ Scope of Work:
- Develop systems to address gaps in agriculture interventions at farm level such as SCI method of cultivations for various crops and on improving soil productivity
- Preparing Farmers field school (FFS) modules for all relevant Agriculture Interventions.
- Design and develop sustainable crop management practices and provide support in their uptake at field level
- Good knowledge of policy analysis and quantitative data analysis but should have the flexibility to do qualitative data analysis, too (if required); skill in developing of tools for investigation (quantitative and qualitative)

Here is a brief snapshot of the role:
A dedicated and versatile Project Coordinator to lead our project interventions at the landscape level. The coordinator must have all-around work experience with demonstrated experience handling multiple tasks, building strong community relationships, and ensuring the smooth implementation of activities/ interventions. The person will be responsible for mobilizing communities and coordinating with field staff to ensure the success of project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project implementation: Oversee the implementation of projects across potential project villages, ensuring their timely implementation vis-à-vis district-level targets.
- Community Engagement: Work with local communities, leaders, government officials and line departments to encourage participation and support for the projects.
- Team Supervision: Guide and support field staff, volunteers, and Community Resource Persons (CRPs) in their day-to-day activities.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track the progress of each intervention, gather primary and secondary data, and submit reports to the team lead, DCA/DCO.
- Mangrove Co-Management Committee (MCMC) registration and banking: Liaison with the office of the Charity Commissioner at the district level for submitting village-level MCMC files, following up with key officials and obtaining final approvals. Coordinate with MCMC Secretaries/SMS/CRPs from assigned villages for timely bank account opening to ensure smooth flow for implementing project activities.
- Capacity Building: Organize training and awareness sessions for community members, team members, and local stakeholders.
- Knowledge/experience in bringing constructive collaboration through convergence between ongoing/proposed government schemes at the centre/state/district level is desirable.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with Taluka-level line department officials, NGOs, and other partners to ensure proper use of resources and enhanced collaboration.

Role: Agriculture Expert

The opportunity:
Agriculture Expert is responsible for developing and implementing sustainable agriculture practices on the field. The role involves to assess their current cropping practices, develop and implement sustainable agriculture plans, and build the capacity of project staff on sustainable agriculture practices. Roles and Responsibilities of M&E Officers:
Planning and Monitoring the WOTR Projects:
- M&E Officer is responsible for planning and monitoring the projects that clearly outline all indicators tracked at different monitoring levels — Input, Activities, Output and Outcome as per the sanctioned projects and WOTR’s overall indicators.
- Utilize and adapt the existing M&E framework that serves as a reference to ensure consistent data collection, analysis, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Data Collection:
- Develop and adapt data collection tools for capturing indicators that require primary data collection.
- Leveraging the WOTR’s app for data collection and management. It can minimize duplication of effort caused by parallel data systems and help streamline our overall M&E processes.
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites, communities, and institutions to collect quantitative, qualitative data or mixed method where applicable.
- Facilitate capacity-building sessions for project team members to enable them to collect data and improve data quality
Data Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular data quality checks to identify and document inaccuracies, inconsistencies, or gaps in field data for your assigned geography or project area.

B. Work Experience

Role: Account Executive

A brief snapshot of the role:
As Account Executive you will play a critical part in maintaining accounts and related documentation, overseeing designated financial operations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, preparing and monitoring budgets, undertaking various financial analysis and providing financial insights for strategic decision-making. As the Manager of Monitoring and Evaluation, you will play a crucial role in leading the organization’s M&E department, working closely with the Executive Director, Programme Directors, and department heads to drive the organization’s mission forward. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that projects are developed using the highest quality evidence, while also capturing and communicating high-quality findings through the use of cutting-edge monitoring and evaluation techniques.
In order to achieve this, you will establish a robust monitoring and evaluation system throughout the organization, develop impact metrics for short-, mid-, and long-term goals, and lead the design of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools for various programmes. Who are we looking for?
WOTR is on the lookout for a Sr. Officer (FPO) to promote Farmers Producer Organization (FPO) and establish the required systems and processes for internal governance and management—production, marketing, finance, MIS, and statutory compliance—to sustain the organization and provide significant benefit to its members.
As Sr. Officer (FPO) you will:
- Generate awareness and mobilize farmers, organize them, and incorporate them into the FPO.
- Establish systems and processes for updating MIS and accounts, conducting statutory audits, and managing finance.
- Facilitate processes and develop systems for regular board meetings, ensuring statutory compliance and diligently following other governance procedures based on best practices.
- Prepare business development proposals and detailed roadmaps for FPOs.

Join W-CReS
The WOTR Centre for Resilience Studies (W-CReS), initiated in 2007 and established in 2016, is WOTR’s eminent and autonomous applied research unit.
Employing a trans-disciplinary approach, W-CReS conducts multi-stakeholder, applied research on critical, ground-level issues impacting society. W-CReS’ mission is to unravel the causal relationships and drivers of behavioural change, devise and test potent strategies for transformation, and contribute to policy enhancement and capacity building.
W-CreS works closely with civil society agencies, businesses, local, state and federal governments to achieve its mission. It has formal MOUs with leading publicly funded research and scientific institutions in India, such as the ICAR, IMD, and CRIDA. Its robust research efforts are attested to by over 200 published research papers, impact studies and socio-economic baseline studies of project villages.

At W-CReS you will
- Support a team for Action / applied research projects
- Work in close coordination with the trans-disciplinary team including practitioners
- Develop training modules for communities and practitioners
- Write research publications in peer reviewed journals, report writing and engage in novel ways to communicate research
- Step out into the field and in our areas of intervention
- Conduct Data collection and Data Analysis
- Support the organisation with other needs whenever required
Apply if you have:
– A PhD or Master’s with minimum four years’ research experience (interdisciplinary/ action research) in one of the following
- Environmental science (Not Pollution) Majorly deals with ecosystems and Landscape Ecology
- Ecology/ Forestry/ Natural Resource Management/Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
-The passion to work toward sustainable development through ecosystem regeneration and its management
-The openness to working with a trans-disciplinary team
-The willingness to learn and adopt new technologies in your outreach to communities and in related applied/action research
-The commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of rural communities and to achieving the targets India has set w.r.t. the SDGs, LDN, CBD and others

Here is a brief snapshot of the role:
As Field Officer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating agricultural development and enhancing agricultural productivity. Working closely with farmers, you will provide valuable insights on modern farming techniques and promote sustainable farming practices to them.
At WOTR you will:
- Assist in implementation of agriculture related projects and monitoring of the same
- Implement crop demonstrations, collect data from demo plots and send it for further analysis as per the project need
- Conduct periodical farmer field schools and keep records
- Assist in data collection and analysis of various agricultural interventions and research studies
- Prepare physical and financial reports of projects.
- Prepare reports, produce written outputs of implementation work and its outcomes
- Support the conduct of trainings & development of manuals
- Perform any other team responsibilities / duties as assigned time to time
You will be reporting to the Project Manager.
Apply if you have:
- A B.Sc/ M.Sc with Agricultural related specialization (Preferably Entomology, Agronomy, Soil Science)
- Comfortable using MS office.
- Fluency in Marathi and Hindi
- Good writing and communication skills in English would be an advantage
